Won Do began regularly attending dharma service since 1994, the first year of WBM and became a full member of the Temple by receiving Dharma name in 1997. She served on the Temple Program Council for several years.

She actively supports various special events held at the Temple and has led chi Kung practice during retreats. Laura is a long time advocate of healthy living and has practiced chi kung and tai chi for many years. She is a former instructor of chi kung at the Flushing YMCA where she taught for ten years. She is presently training in Chen style tai chi.

Laura has worked in the health care field for twenty years. She is a physician-office-assistant at a Manhattan cancer center where she manages a medical and academic oncology practice. She is a former instructor of Medical Administration at Marymount Manhattan College, where she taught for seven years.

Laura is a mother of two daughters and one son. She is a native New Yorker who makes her home in Queens. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Social Theory from SUNY. In addition to meditation practice, Laura enjoys painting, drawing, and baking.
