Meditation

When we meditate
We breathe together with the whole world
when we meditate,
We become one with the world.
When we meditate,
We realize that we are the world."

excerpt from "Meditation" by Ven. Chung Ok Lee

Silent Meditation

In our modern society, we are preoccupied with inconsequential matters, and permit our mind to be consumed by unnecessary distractions. We grow anxious, agitated, and harsh, thereby allowing our Negative Energy to rise. However, by letting go of our distractions and fostering our Buddha Nature, our Positive Energy shall flow. This occurs gradually through silent meditation. By meditation in this way every morning and evening, one can restore the True Nature of the mind, and cultivate one's ability to balance, integrate, and harmonize the spiritual and the material. One may gain further understanding of the mind, body, feelings, and world, hence awakening the Buddha Nature within.

Chanting Meditation

In a way parallel to silent meditation, chanting meditation restores one's mind to its peaceful state. While chanting the words Na-Mu-A-Mi-Ta-Bul. We detach ourselves from the frustration of daily life by focusing our energies on both the chanting voice and sound. Through this discipline, which may be practiced in our active lives, our mind-heart transcends the small self and joins the Universal Self. By chanting together, our thoughts become one thought and we become one with the True self.
